Fuel Pressure for civics?

I just installed a fuel pressure gauge on my 99 civic ex. The gauge is reading 40 psi with vacuum connected and 67-68 psi w/o vacuum. Is this about right for civics? Is the needle supposed to vibrate +/- 1psi? Thanks

Those readings are about right. I was seeing about 40 psi at idle, 62 psi at 0 in/hg and about 85 psi at 6 psi boost.

BTW, stock readings on a civic are supposed to be in the 28-46 psi range.

Thanks for the reply Marc. Do you think I can lower it a little? I looked at the plugs and they look okay but for some reason the plugs closer to the distributor have instulators that are whiter. The #4 plugs has a almost completely white insulator. I've had one step colder plugs for almost 5k miles. Is this a sign running rich or lean in that cylinder?

I'd leave the settings where it's at. Usually it's #1 cylinder(driver side) that sees a lack of fuel since that is the end of the rail. When I pulled my plugs after about 7k miles there was some detonation on the plugs but nothing outlandish. Change the plugs on a regular basis and you'll be okay.

I saw some plugs on a turbo DSM after about 5K miles running at 18psi. I almost hit the floor when I saw the plugs. Now that was scary.
